DOHA, QATAR - February 20, 2019 – Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) and Barzan Holdings have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in the field of scientific research and strategic studies. Nasser Al Naimi, managing director of Barzan Holdings, and Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, signed the MoU at a meeting to discuss areas of cooperation and collaboration.

Throughout the 2018/19 school year, UCL Qatar aims to reach thousands of students between the ages of 6 and 11, developing their knowledge of the history of Qatari traditions and the main architectural features of homes in the 1930s and 40s.
The Origins of Doha and Qatar project, which these materials form part of, is funded by the Qatar National Research Fund’s National Priorities Research Program (NPRP), and draws on archaeology, history and geography to depict the historical development of Qatar. More than 200 students compete in Carnegie Mellon’s high school robotics tournament
February 09, 2019 - DOHA, QATAR: A team from Qatar Academy won the overall title at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q)’s annual Botball competition for high school students. The competition, which was launched by CMU-Q in 2005, brought together 15 teams to program a robot through a complex game board.
Botball participants receive their robot and their mission at a workshop eight weeks before the final event so they can learn to program the robot and plan a strategy for the final competition.
Qatar Academy narrowly edged out the Lebanese School of Qatar to secure first place. English Modern School took third place for the overall competition.

DOHA, Qatar, 04 February 2019: Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) partners with QFBA to runs the pilot program for the first batch of generation 2030 in pursuit of offering the best in class financial courses to Qatari executives and new age professionals.
The program, targeting new joiners as well as employees who have been on the job for up to three years, will help professionals master the latest trends and challenges in the financial sector and thereby allow them to further hone their skills.
